26) The “HEART” of a Believer – 2025

A few years ago, a friend asked me if I knew what the “heart” of a believer is. Thinking she wanted to share something special with me, I asked her what is it? Originally, I posted this on my then website on October 22, 2010.

She said “the ‘heart’ of a believer is the place where the spirit and soul meet.”

My face lit up with a big smile as this simple but profound definition wowed me. Since then, I just love to visualize this special place, the heart: the place where my spirit and my soul meet!

Our spirit, that was deadened by sin, is quickened (made alive) by the Holy Spirit when we receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and the Holy Spirit comes to live within us.

It is our spirit that connects-up with the Holy Spirit and allows us to commune directly with God. Such an awesome thing to experience; this on-going, two-way, intimate personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our soul is our individual personality that involves our mind, will and emotions.

What I like to visualize now is the joining and meshing of spirit and soul as my mind is being renewed by the Holy Spirit and I become more and more like Jesus Christ.

Join in and visualize this as each of us reflect more and more the very image of God through our relationship with Jesus Christ. More and more like the way man was originally created–in the very image and likeness of God.

In the very deepest part of our being, our heart for God, is the place where our spirit and soul meet!
