Dry Land, Seas, Plant Life – Day 3 Lesson 9 2024

Genesis 1: 9-10 (KJV)
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called He Seas: and God saw that it was good.

In the beginning the Earth was created as one large landmass. (Referred to as Rodinia by scientists.)

Note: The large landmass divided (split apart) during the Worldwide Flood of Noah’s time, about 4,400 years ago. Noah and his family and animals were on the Ark for about one year.

Day 3 Continued
Genesis 1:11-13 (KJV) 11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
Notice that each kind was created and each kind reproduces after its own kind. God is The Creator.

Photosynthesis is important because it is the way in which plants receive their energy. A plant takes light from the sun (not yet created-created on Day 4) and turns that light’s energy into energy that the plant uses to grow and to stay alive.

Photosynthesis is how plants turn sunlight, water and carbon dioxide into food and oxygen. All plants depend on photosynthesis to get their energy.

We get oxygen from plant life. Without plants, there could be no animal life, there could be no human life.

God was preparing the Earth for habitation.
What do we learn from Genesis chapter 2 about the ground and plant life?

Genesis 2:5-6 (KJV) 5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. 6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
Genesis 2:7-10 (KJV) 7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. 9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.

Genesis 1:29-30 tells us God’s purpose for creating plant life.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat (food). 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat (food): and it was so.

We learn these things:
1. Before there was any rain on Earth, God watered all of the ground with a mist that went up from the ground.
2. God planted a garden and made every tree pleasant to look at and good for food.
3. A river was made to water the garden.
4. God created plants for food to feed people, animals and every creeping thing on earth.

Remember God is Supernatural. Man is Natural.
Believe God’s Word. God is The Creator.
