Cataract Surgery Reminds Me of the Ten Lepers – Post 53

I went through the experience of having cataract surgery in 2013. It reminded me of the story of the Ten Lepers.

From Luke 17 beginning at verse 11 Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. 13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”14 So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.

15 And ONE of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and WITH A LOUD VOICE GLORIFIED GOD, 16 and FELL DOWN ON HIS FACE AT HIS FEET, GIVING HIM THANKS. And he was a Samaritan. 17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the NINE?

18 WERE THERE NOT ANY FOUND WHO RETURNED TO GIVE GLORY TO GOD EXCEPT THIS FOREIGNER?”

19 And He said to him, “ARISE, GO YOUR WAY. YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WELL.”NKJV

As I sent my pastor an e-mail regarding why I would not be coming to a grill out in 95 degree weather, just two days after my surgery, I found myself writing this as part of my heart’s response:

My experience with the surgery was so wonderful as I felt so close to Jesus. And I now can see much better out of that right eye. IT IS VERY MUCH A MIRACLE.

I felt a sense of love toward my surgeon as he and I shared how we both do worship services at Nursing Homes and he did a ministry trip to, I believe, an African country where he did cataract surgeries on many people.

He told me, he thought that his most rewarding experience was bringing sight to a woman who had never been able to see.

I just want to protect my eyes and WORSHIP, PRAISE AND THANK JESUS for this and the next awesome miracle coming in September. (Cataract surgery on my left eye took place in September of 2013.)

Question? Are you like the ONE who with a loud voice glorify God for any and all healing and fall at the feet of Jesus giving Him the thanks? Or are you among the NINE who will go on their way and give thanks to technology and glory to the surgeon, instead?

All healing comes from God, period.

It is as if Jesus gave me a new eye. Praise the Lord. Thank you Jesus for giving us this technology and for using surgeons to bring about such a miracle. If we only understood divine healing better, there would be many many more direct divine healing miracles happening in America. Praise the Lord, for He is so good.

verse 19 And Jesus said to him, “ARISE, GO YOUR WAY. YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WELL.”
