In the manger scenes you buy you find both shepherds and wise men figurines along with a star as if it guided them all to baby Jesus in a manger in a stable. A few things are not accurate with this scene according to scripture.
1) A stable was typically a room in a person’s home where animals were fed and housed. Not like what we think of when we picture a stable today.2) There is no star mentioned in scripture leading the lowly shepherds to the stable in Bethlehem. The shepherds followed the directions given to them by an angel who had appeared to them in the fields where they were attending their sheep.
3) The wise men did not visit the stable. They were later led by a star to a home where they found Mary and Jesus as a young child.

Luke 2:15 So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. 17 Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. 18 And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.
