Waters Abound With Abundance of Living Creatures – Day 5 Continued – Lesson 16

Continuing on with Day 5 of God’s Creation week. God SPEAKS forth swarms of living creatures into the waters and fills the expanse above the earth with birds. Day 5 is the first day of conscious life forms on Earth. On Day 3, plants were made that are living things but without consciousness and without the ability to independently move freely.

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. Genesis 1:20-23 (KJV)

According to Genesis 1:22, God commands all living creatures in the waters and air to: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters of the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth”.

The same command is given to all the animals on land and to Adam and Eve on the sixth day of Creation Week. The ability to reproduce after (according to) its own kind in obedience to God’s command is only possible because each species has its own DNA coding. On days three, five, and six, the phrase “according to its kind” is used a total of ten times in Genesis 1:11-25.

There is no mention in Scripture of simple life forms evolving upwards to form more complex living organisms. Like the other days of Creation Week, God simply speaks His Word and an uncountable number of living creatures fill the sea and the air. All creatures are created full grown with their own unique genetic coding completely formed.

The stage had been set before Day 5. The land and the sea are full of all sorts of plant life, big and small. Habitats have been created to introduce conscious living things. Just think of the minute details that had to be right such as the temperature of the water to support particular kinds of fish.

All kinds of creatures live in the sea—some of the smallest and some of the largest, some that are very beautiful, and some that are bizarre, or odd. The smallest creatures that live in the sea are tiny, microscopic, single-celled forms of life, such as bacteria, protozoa, and algae. Not all algae are tiny, however, although many have only a single cell. Seaweeds, which grow to be many feet in length, are algae. There are invertebrates such as sponges, jellyfish, clams, oysters, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, starfish, sea lilies, lobsters, worms, snails, and many more.

All sorts of fish live in lakes, rivers, and seas. Many mammals live in the sea including dolphins, whales, porpoises, seals, sea lions, and sea cows. God created all of these.
