God Stretched Out The Heavens – Day 4 Continued – Lesson 13 2024

Thus saith God the LORD, He that created the heavens, and stretched them out; He that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; He that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein. Isaiah 42:5 (KJV)

I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. Isaiah 45:12 (KJV)

A galaxy is a huge collection of gas, dust, and billions of stars and their solar systems. A galaxy is held together by gravity. Our galaxy, the Milky Way, also has a supermassive black hole in the middle.
The Milky Way, like many other galaxies, is a Spiral Galaxy, meaning that it has a dense area of stars in its center glowing brightly, and arms spinning in a spiral around it.

Stars are massive balls of gas that produce heat and light. The Sun is the nearest star to Earth, but it is just one of between 200 and 400 billion stars in the Milky Way Galaxy, and the Milky Way is one of between 100 and 200 billion galaxies in the universe.

Although stars are many many times larger than Earth, and often much larger than the Sun, they appear as small dots of light in the sky because they are so far away. Stars can be different sizes and different colors.
It is 100,000 Light Years (950,000,000,000,000,000 kilometers) from one side of the Milky Way to the other. The Solar System containing the 8 planets orbiting around our Sun is quite near to the edge of the Milky Way.

The nearest Spiral Galaxy and the largest galaxy of the Local Group, Andromeda is 2.6 million Light Years from the Earth. It is stated that the Andromeda Galaxy is estimated to contain a trillion stars.
